Use the toggle below the search bar to switch between Semantic and Keyword search. Semantic search understands meaning — it finds relevant passages even when they use different words. Keyword search finds exact terms and phrases across all your documents.
01. Upload Your Documents
Drag and drop PDFs into the left panel or click + Add PDFs. Each document is split into passages and indexed automatically. You can search across multiple documents at once.
02. Semantic Search
Ask questions the way you naturally would. Instead of keyword strings like "standing injury-in-fact concrete", try "What are the requirements for Article III standing?" Focus on the legal issue or concept rather than party names or case numbers.
03. Keyword Search
Switch to Keyword mode to find exact words in your documents. Searching court dismiss returns only passages containing both "court" and "dismiss" (in any order). Wrap words in quotes to match an exact phrase: "summary judgment" finds those two words side by side. Best when you know the specific terms you're looking for.
04. Review Highlighted Results
Click any result to jump directly to the relevant passage in the PDF viewer. Semantic results are ranked by meaning similarity; keyword results are ranked by match frequency.
